What are cookies?

Cookies are small text files that are placed on the device by the internet browser. These cookies contain certain information, such as the language preference of the visitor. Other cookies collect statistics about website users or ensure that the website’s graphics and applications work correctly.

Cookies do not contain any personal data. All cookies contain a unique code (name of the server that placed the cookie, expiry date and unique number/value) on the basis of which the browser can be recognised, either when visiting the website (session cookies) or when surfing to the website again later (persistent cookies). Persistent cookies remain on the browser, although they can always be deleted or deactivated in the browser preferences.

What cookies do we use?

Strictly necessary/technical cookies
These are cookies that are necessary for the website to function and cannot be disabled. These cookies allow you to navigate around the website and use its different features.

Functionality cookies
These cookies are used to enable specific functionality on the website and thus improve user-friendliness, for example by remembering choices and preferences (for example chosen language) or storing more complex decisions (for example preferred location or volume settings).

No permission is required for the installation of the above mentioned cookies.

Tracking/advertising cookies
This website and the marketing emails from LIMES use tracking cookies from Google Analytics to track visitor statistics. LIMES uses these statistics to continuously improve the website and mailings and offer relevant information.

Tracking cookies on our website: Google Analytics
Google Analytics is used, among other things, to gain insight into the flow of visitors, traffic sources and page visits on the website. This means that Google acts as a processor in the processing of personal data by LIMES. In accordance with the European privacy regulations, LIMES has concluded a processing agreement with Google.
Information collected by Google Analytics is made anonymous as much as possible. For example, it is not possible to see which individual visitors are behind which visits to our website. Google will never process your full IP address and always masks the last octet of your IP address.

Google will not use the information collected for its own purposes. LIMES has not given Google permission to use information in this way. Furthermore, no other Google services are used in combination with the Google Analytics cookies. For more information LIMES refers to the Privacy Policy of Google.

Tracking cookies in our marketing emails:
When signing up for the newsletter or other marketing emails from LIMES, downloading images or clicking on a link in one of these emails will cause the browser to be identified. This means that LIMES can see if the email is opened or if there is a click through to the website.
When unsubscribing to the newsletter and other marketing emails from LIMES, the browser can be set to refuse the tracking cookies.

The cookie settings can be adjusted in the browser. LIMES advises you to consult the manual of your browser for this.
