Further to earlier communications, we are pleased to announce that the changes which have become effective as per October 1, 2012 with respect to family migration will be partially reversed. As a result, it will again be possible for non-married couples, having a long-lasting relationship to apply for a Dutch residence permit based on stay with their non-married partner. Although this change in Dutch legislation will most probably only become effective in the course of April 2013, applications for such a residence permit can already be filed. Those applications will be judged based on the legislation which was applicable on September 30, 2012. Subsequently, it should not be necessary to wait for the decision on those applications until the applicable legislation has been changed again.
